I just installed the OLW add-in and the toolbar shows up in Word (be nice if it could remember its position via registry data between Word sessions).  I had previously saved a local file up to my workspace (the Save browser dialog is a bit clumsy due to lack of refresh and showing paths where docs can't be saved when first used along with not showing previously saved docs allthough All Files is the default list criteria).  I make no changes to the document after it gets downloaded into Word which was quick (I have broadband Internet).  However, when I close the document, it takes 40 seconds before the doc window actually closes.  During this time, Word is locked up so I have to keep waiting for the OLW add-in to finally close that unchanged document's window.

So getting into a doc from OLW was quick but getting out is way too slow.  This long delay makes it clumsy to be editing multiple documents.

I quit using the plug-in.  The solution to the delay was to uninstall the plug-in.

While its unfortunate that you quit using the Add-in, I understand the reason why based on your posting. However, if you are ever ready to give us a try again, we have released a new version of the Add-in as part of the Office Live Update 1.1 that addresses this issue which was caused due to authentication issues.
