Office Live Workspace Server

I've only been able to access my workspace once, which was via the link provided in the welcome email sent a couple of days ago.  That link no longer works.  I've tried the links in the Live home page, Live Messenger, Spaces, etc.  This is the message I get:

  • "Your computer cannot connect to the server. You may be offline or the server may be down. You will have reduced functionality until the connection is restored."

The problem is not my computer.  Anyone else experiencing "reduced functionality" with their workspace?

Re: Office Live Workspace Server

I have the same problem as well, but have discovered that the problem doesn't exist for me in Firefox.  That's quite the shame, as I rather prefer IE.  I couldn't make it work with IE6, so I downloaded and installed IE7 and still got the same error.  That's also quite a shame, because IE6 seems to work better with Outlook Web Access better than IE7 does. Some IE architect in Redmond seriously needs to find a new position elsewhere.

OLW people -- this is a neat product, and it is part of a whole string of really neat things MS has been rolling out of late.  You really, really need to get IE to talk with it better -- fill their RAID with bugs if you have to, just get them to start testing this seriously.  Using Firefox as a workaround is crap.

Any chance you're using Google Web Accelerator?  I found that I got that message until I turned GWA off.

Nope.  I even uninstalled Google Toolbar.

Re: Office Live Workspace Server

I have the same problem and it's something inside IE7. I've started IE7 without add-ins, adding Office Live Workspace to my trusted sites and played around with various advanced settings without results.

Funny thing is I can get to some of functions through the Office Live Add-In for MS Office 2003. I'm able to save and modify documents with Word, but can't delete documents.

What's really comical is I have no problem logging in with Firefox.

Re: Office Live Workspace Server

I found that http://workspace.office.live.com/ was in my trusted zone. As soon as I removed it, I was able to access the site.

Re: Office Live Workspace Server

Interesting.

I was able to solve my problem by adding http://*.live.com to my Trusted Sites zone.
