Connection to the server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

Have been experiencing the above message for the last few days. VERY FUSTRATING

Site worked perfectly last week, managed to load documents and share with users.

Able to access load files via Word, Excel etc; but unable to actually get onto the site.

Any ideas?

Re: Connection to the server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

rheemie - when does the error show up? If you open a new browser and go to http://workspace.office.live.com and login, do you get a plain page with the error or do you get your workspaces to show up with the error in a red bar at the top?

Have you tried clearning temp internet files and/or cookies to see if that helps?

Chris

Re: Need help w/ excel formulas and functions

I am trying to simply create a function where in a spreadsheet column C is subtracted from column B and the answer is in column D.  I keep getting SUM as the answer in my search queries and it tells you how to use negatives and add them...I just want to subtract whole numbers and get the difference in another column.  How do I do that???

Re: Connection to the server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

When I visit http://workspace.officelive.com/?cloc=en-GB and click "Get started now", I immediately get the error message "We have experienced a problem with our server. Please try again in a few moments." I have been getting this message for the past couple days.

Please help me correct this!

Re: Need help w/ excel formulas and functions

Charlie, you need to visit http://support.microsoft.com for help with your Excel problem, as this community is for Microsoft Office Live Workspace questions and support only.

Good luck with your question!

Hi Eddie,

I don't want your question lost in the shuffle of this thread. You may want to post your question as a new post in the forum.

In the mean time, have you tried what CHRISA posted just above?

Re: Connection to the server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

I'm having the exact same problem when using IE7 in Vista.  It works if I use firefox however.  Go figure, I try to use all MS programs and get an error.  I too can load items directly from Word 2007, etc.  Just can't view them using IE.  I tried clearing cookies and temp internet files first thing.  I also added the workspace url to trusted sites.  I was thinking maybe it is some obscure security settings that needs to be changed.  Anybody have any ideas?

Me too.  Connection successful under IE7/Vista.  On system with XP, Firefox3 works fine.  I get the same message as prior posts when I try using IE7/XP.  It seems to try several times before giving up.

The problem now seems to have magically cured itself.  I did nothing except try to log in again a few minutes ago using IE7, and all works as it should.   What gives?
