acknowledgement of a problem with sign up?

acknowledgement of a problem with sign up?

I have been trying for weeks to sign up for Live workspaces but I constantly get an error page. I am asked to sign in as I already have a live ID and then I get the following:

We're sorry, Microsoft Office Live has encountered an unexpected problem in processing your request.
Please try one of the following:
  • Please check the Address bar to ensure that you have entered the correct URL.
  • Use your browser's Back button to try another link.
  • Go to Microsoft Office Live Home and work on another task if the service you are requesting is temporarily not available.
  • If you continue to encounter this problem or want assistance, please contact us.
Now I KNOW Im not alone here, and even Microsoft support replicated this and said they couldnt fix it for me either (but confrmed that they didnt have to give me the "delete your cookies email again)
 
Why are thousands of potential visitors to this site not given a message explaining that there is a problem, rather than being expected to waste their time and many hours of support time in letting support staff reset their live ID passwords, only to replicate and then not fix the issue?
 
Can somebody explain what is wrong here, and why there is no acknowledgement of a problem with sign up?

It seems that friends of mine with Live IDs that are hotmail addresses can sign in, but myself and other who have a 3rd party email address as their live ID cannot.

 Is anybody at Microsoft able to take a look at why I cannot sign up (regardless of the computer I use) with my Live ID, although a test account works?

I'm one of the moderators here in this Community. I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem. I can certainly let them know that you're encountering this problem and see if I can perhaps get some more insight into this for you.

gphillips, I just signed up for OLW using a gmail account with no problems. I'll send your issue as well to a few people that may be able to help. If you can private message me the email you received from support with the case#, I'll follow up with them as well.
