I've seen a couple of posts regarding the installation failure of the Office Live add-in. From what I've seen it appears that the add-in is (put plainly) broken.
I've tried the add-in on 2 different systems with wdely varied results. On the Windows XP system with Office 2003 the add-in installed and worked as expected with no issues at all. On the Vista system with Office 2007 the add-in refuses to install at all. I've tried an number of different scenarios:
1. Straight download and install of add-in on existing systen. Failure.
2. Complete reinstall of Office 2007 followed by full Windows updating and patching then add-in install. Failure.
3 Complete reinstall of Office 2007 and Office 2007 SP1 update followed by Add-in install. Failure
4 Complete reinstall of Office 2007 follwed by Add-in install (before any updating and patching. Failure.
Can I safely assume that the add-in was just poorly built and rushed out to the public before ot was ever REALLY tested? With as hard as MS is pushing Vista and Office 2007 I find it hard to believe that the add-in is broken this badly.
