Signing in and signing out.

I have been experiencing some trouble signing out before joining the community. After filling out the proper fields and selecting "Join Now!" button I am now signed in and can select a "Sign Out" button. I kept trying to sign out before joining and was always left signed in at Office Live Workspace Community. I could get the green check marks next to the Office Live to close, but Office Workspace Community was always left with a red criscross meaning I have not signed out. "Join Now!" seems to be the solution.

Re: Signing in and signing out.

Thanks for your post Jess. Can you help me out and tell me where the "Join Now!" link was for you? I'm having trouble locating it! Speaking to the issue, we're aware of this and investigating possible fixes for the future.

Re: Signing in and signing out.

Hi ChrisA. I started from my inbox selecting an email fom Microsoft (Microsoft@newsletters.microsoft.com). From the opened email Sign up for Workspace and share documents online, Select Create something amazing in Microsoft Office Live Workspace Link http://go.microsoft/?linkid=901115 Ignore Sign up today button. A new window opens to Store and share documents online with Office Live. Select Community tab http://workspace.officelive.com/Community From Community select Blog http://officeliveworkspacecommunity.com/blogs/teamblog/ In Workspace Team Blog from the header Select Windows Live ID Sign in button. Here is where my trouble started. I could not get signed in and recognized. Back to Microsoft Office Live Workspace Community Portal http://workspace.officelive.com/Community Select Already have a Microsoft Office Live account? Select Sign in button. From Sign in http://login.live.com Select Click a Windows Live ID to sign in. Sign in Windows Live ID password field. The next window was something different. I can't remember exactly, just by looking at my notes, From Microsoft Office Live http://home.officelive.com/Settings/Pages/UnrecognizedUser.aspx Select Sign out from the header. In the Microsoft Office Live http://www.officelive.com/ Sign out. Select To return to Office Live Sign in button. From Sign in http://login.live.com Select Office Live Sign in button. From Microsoft Office Live Small Business and Microsoft Office Live Workspace window Select Office Live Workspace Beta Sign Free button. Again, I can't remember exactly, but just by looking at my notes, From Microsoft Office Live Sign-up. Sign up for Microsoft Office Live Workspace. E-mail address. See-Select the email address that you will use to sign into your Office Live account. Select Sign in. From Sign in http://login.live.com/ Click a Windows Live ID to sign in. Click sign in button. Enter Windows Live ID password in the field. Click sign in. This where I remember getting a window showing required fields User name ID, Windows email address and verify address fields. After entering required fields below was a "Join Now!" button. I selected in and the I was recognized with a Sign in as name in the header with a Sign out button. Now I am able to sign in and sign out of the Community using my Windows Live ID. I have not accepted the User Aggreement for a Windows Office Live Workspace yet. I am undecided and still checking out blogs and forums. Are the applications in Live Workspace the same as my Laptop using Windows Vista Home Premium Office 2007? How long will MIcrosoft Office Live Workspace Beta be free?

Re: Signing in and signing out.

Thanks for the detailed writeup Jess! I found the Join Now! link using your steps. Windows Live ID is the authentication method for officeliveworkspacecommunity.com but you still need to register on the site with a unique username, etc so you can post and interact with the forums. I've been a member of the communities for some time now but I still experience the same behavior you've seen of not being able to sign out.

Workspace is a great product (sure, I'm a bit biased) and very helpful storing documents on our site so you can take them with you and access them anywhere as well as share and collaborate with colleagues and friends. I would encourage you to check it out for yourself, even if you simply upload test documents and share them with a friend.

We currently support uploading many filetypes, include Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; these programs I would imagine are installed on your laptop as part of Office 2007. We also support uploading and viewing other files like PDF.

Our goal is to keep Office Live Workspace a free service.
